Garnacha 100%.
Vintage 2023.
The vineyard, over 60 years old, was planted by my grandfather and has been cultivated using goblet vines ever since. It is located in the municipality of Cordovín, at an altitude of 650 meters, on clayey-ferrous soil characteristic of the Najerilla Valley.
Initially, this vineyard was intended for the production of the area's renowned clarets. However, due to climate change, the Garnacha grape variety grown on this plot has found optimal conditions for producing magnificent red wines.
In the production of this wine, as with all Javier Peciña's wines, the aim was to fully respect the characteristics of the grapes and reflect the terroir and vintage. To achieve this, the best grapes were manually harvested. They were then destemmed and spontaneously fermented. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine rested for eight months in French oak barrels before being bottled without filtering or stabilizing. This wine is made without additives, except for a small dose of sulfites to prevent possible alterations in the bottle. This allows the wine to fully express its authenticity and reflect the essence of the vineyard and vintage in every sip.
Tasting notes
Ruby red visual phase with a medium layer.
On the nose, aromas of black fruit, cherry, and certain citrus notes combine with the spices from the aging process.
Light and sweet on the palate, with a medium-high persistence, and an elegant aftertaste that invites you to continue drinking.
